In the last four days of Bhadra and the first four of Aaharia, Sow pulse as much as you can. This is a well known proverb. 369. অমা পূৰ্ণিমত বায় হাল, তাৰ দুখ সৰ্ব্বতি কাল। | Ama purnimat bay hal, | Tar dukh sarbati kal. He who ploughs on the day of the full moon, or of Arabisya, is always in distress. অমাবস্যা is the day of the conjunction of the sun and moon, particularly also the fifteenth day in the second halves of the months Sravan and Bhada. পুৰ্ণিমা is the day of the full moon. Besides অমাবস্যা and পূৰ্ণিমা, there are the following days on which Assamese Hindus cannot plough-একাদশী (the eleventh day of the lunar half of the month); সংক্ৰান্তি (the last day of the month); অম্বুবাচী (the four days in As&rh; when the earth is supposed to be unclean.
