together in a very few years. Even the procreative drive and the instinct for self-preservation would hardly be strong enough to save from extinction a race from which all hope had fled.

With such hope in our mind we ventured to produce a massive and up-to-date maga- zine for our college. But heaven alone knows how far we are successful in this direction. Anyway the editor will be highly gratified if the readers give a little value to this humble effort.

Now with deep regret we find an apathy amongst the student friends for the intellectual affairs of the college. Our repeated appeals for articles especially for the English section have become a crying in wilderness. Out of about 1700 students of our college only 14 have contributed to this section. Here I like to reproduce the remark of the editor of our former issue: "If this situation continues in future, the English Section, I presume, shall have to be abolished." But God forbid ! If we take this matter seriously then there is no power under the sun which can baffle our endeavour.
