WORLD PERIL
"Communism never changes its motives and objectives. World domination is the same goal of Communism today as it was in the days of Lenin and Stalin. The only difference is that they have advanced their programme to a point near completion, and at this stage, as the editor of The Intelligence Digest' in the most recent issue states, the Western Powers and incidentally the entire free world of nations "face the gravest dangers that ever confronted civilization in recorded history." The reports indicate that Russia is far ahead of the West in trained man-power, conventional atomic weapons, hydrogen and atomic bombs, guided missiles both short and long range, and in many respects if these reports can be relied upon, this proves that she is ahead in the scientific race. Through the avenues of propaganda she makes these facts known and her bombastic confidence in her ability to deliver the goods makes the situation dangerous. Consequently one would expect that when Russia feels that she has sufficient rockets such as that which put Sputnik and the other satellites into outer space and can guide them to chosen targets she will not hesitate to create an incident that will touch of the war and give her a chance to put everything she has into action simultaneously. This danger is not over-drawn. In the event that war comes her fully organized fifth column, the members of which, we are told by the investigating committees, are entrenched in every branch of government and filling some of the most important positions, will endanger our security. They are to be found in every branch of the military and also in key position in industry. When war breaks out things may not go exactly as planned, but even though it does not, they will rough up the world and will all but gain their objectives before God comes upon them in judgment.
From statements made by national leaders it is evident they have reached the conclusion that peaceful co-existence with Russia is impractical and impossible. They know that Russia's objective is to gain the mastery of the entire world. Britain's Prime Minister Macmillan has made himself clear on this point. Russia's lead over the West in the field of science and America's feverish effort to catch up also makes for a dangerous situation. Speaking from our present view point we could expect Russia to manoeuvre to prevent America from seiz- ing the initiative again. She would strike suddenly and effectively if she were to believe this had been achieved. From any angle you wish to view the situation we are forced to con- clude that war cannot be far away.
