Works of Geography are rare. Yogini Tantra of Ram Candra Barpatra may be mentioned as a work of this class. | The various Puranas translated into Assamese contain chapters of history and geography. But apart from these there are other works which may rightly be classed as history. These are mainly Vanavalis. In the houses of the ruling kings and chiefs family-records were kept by the domestic priests or astrologers. These are authentic historical works. They are in poetry.
